12/18/09 Last night was fun for all. We sold hundreds of lots in our little two hour show. We had lots to eat and Drink & made MERRY! 7/30/09 Thank you, We had a record setting auction this evening breaking our previous records in sales and attendance. The crowd has rapidly grown and we are trying to figure a way to configure the hall to seat more people. Thanks for your support! 6/21/09 The June 11th sale was fun for all with antiques and commercial equipment in the same auction. You just never Know what will turn up. The July 9th sale is filling up fast ,sure to be another crowd pleaser. Like New snowblower and lots of yard gear and such. Two more estate pick ups should round out this sale. See ya soon. 5/29/09 Thanks to everyone for last nights Terrific Auction! I thank everyone who came to me last night and remarked about the quality of the sale. Yes, In recent times it can be difficult to aquire that many QUALITY items for one Auction. I try very hard to ensure "LEONE AUCTIONS ARE ALWAYS WORTH THE TRIP" I am very pleased and thankful for your kind comments and feedback regarding the quality of my auctions. To the Estate consignor's who came to me last night and thanked me for all the prices achieved, Thank YOU! My auctions succsess are due to your trust and support. The Next Super Dedham auction will feature a Foster Campos tall clock and other High end Antiques & Collectibles. We will update in a couple weeks. 5/14/09 What a Nice Auction!! We had a great sale this evening at our NEW Common-wealth-division venue in Brockton. The pair of B&W speakers stole the show at $2100. 3/23/09 Special thanks to all the buyers and bidders at our last Auction. Another great night! We are working on some local estates and will announce our next auction date as items and photos become available. The Auction market place is leading the way through this recession. Antiques and Collectibles are starting to rebound. Mahogany is still off ,but even that has come back a bit since Nov. Lets hope the spring continues the trend of a recovering antique market for all of us. What do you think? Send me an email let me know.

11/20/08 Timeless Classic Mahogany!
So what happened to classic mahogany furniture? Yea the economy is a mess, Wall Street is crashing but what caused the recent backlash against Mahogany furniture?
We have known for sometime that Dining room furniture is not selling as well as it previously has. This is a somewhat logical effect because many people are too busy working to maintain formal dining rooms. However the price decrease reflects all styles and wood types.
Well now bedroom furniture is feeling the pinch as well, Mahogany appears to be taking the biggest hit. Maple seems to be more in demand than a Mahogany Set. In this upside down world of east is now west, the used furniture market is not immune to a complete 180 degree market.
I can tell you this trend is not in my head. I get between 5 and 15 calls a week for 1940's Mahogany Duncan Phyfe Style Dining room sets.Breakfront China cabinet, sideboard, Double pedestal table and six or eight chairs. I know what they are worth NOW. Its the tall chests that have me stumped. Until about 9 months ago you could not keep one in stock as a furniture dealer. Now try and sell one for more than the price of a tank of gas.
It seems a painted white and distressed bedroom sells much faster than the original traditional finish.
Styles have always changed but Mahogany has been in fashion for hundreds of years.
Suddenly painted finish press board demands the same or more money than Mahogany on the used market.
I guess IKEA has made its mark here on the Mahogany rich South Shore of Boston Massachusetts. So go Bernie, Phyl and Bob too "No interest no payments until 3000 never". I hope I am still around when the fashion styles change back to my once revered classic mahogany. In the meantime I will continue to sell all types of estate furniture at the "new rates" and be mystified by the evolving furniture market. Wow, Its been a while since I updated the blog. I have been busy with clean-out's and estate liquidations ,gathering some great estate merchandise. The March 27th auction should be exciting with many rare quality items. This sale will feature quality over quantity.
I would like to thank my consignors and buyers for another great auction! We are gathering some very interesting lots for the next auction. I will be holding the next sale late March <March27th>.
I will be traveling to Chicago for an inventory and appraisal and should return in time for Dave Abdou's Tuesday Feburary 5 morning Auction.

1/15/08 I am in San Jose CA. for an Antiques Appraisal. I will be posting the new addtions in text only on Friday. I will Shoot pictures of the latest Merchandise when I return from CA. I hope to get back Friday night weather permiting.
1/14/08 Well Its snowing again! I fly to San Jose tomorrow for an Insurance loss Appraisal. I will return Friday evening "weather permiting". The Jan 31st Auction will end up with some great items which may not get photographed because of the weather effecting pick up dates. So please be aware this sale will hold many surprises!

10/30/2007 On my recent insurance loss appraisal trip to California I met many families who lost everything in this disaster. Some tips to remember. If you have a video tape inventory of the contents in your home or store, keep the tape in another location or safe deposit box. These days photographs can be backed up in digital formats with Web storage. Often times Precious family photos and videos are what people miss most after a disaster. Our Hearts go out to the Victims of the California Wild Fires. Please remember these families in your prayers.
